A lake owned by the people who love it
LBPOA stands for Lake Balboa Property Owners Association. Since 1968 we collectively own, protect and enjoy Lake Balboa — no developers, no hotels, no public crowds. Every dock fee goes back into clean water, safe beaches and community events.

Spring-fed, 38 ft deep at the dam, 6.2 miles of shoreline. Five no-wake coves for paddlers, a central ski course, and a sailing reach with steady afternoon breeze.

280 slips, dry stack, 2 launches, fuel dock, free pump-out. Electric + 4-stroke up to 40HP.
Bass & trout
Largemouth to 8lb, stocked rainbow, crappie slabs. Catch-photo-release derbies monthly.

Lifeguarded Memorial–Labor Day, splash pad, swim team, adult aqua-fit at sunrise.
Quiet coves
Heron & Loon coves are no-wake always. Free SUP + kayak share for members.

05 — Conservation
Clean water is our currency
We test water 3x a week, harvest 600 tons of weeds a year, and keep 70% shoreline natural. Loons returned in 2019 — now 6 nesting pairs.

Good questions
Who can join LBPOA?
Owners inside LBPOA boundaries are automatic members. Renters, family and friends get passes through the owner. No public day passes — this keeps the lake clean and safe.
Are motorboats allowed?
Yes — electric and 4-stroke up to 40HP. Ski hours 8am–7pm in central course. Jet skis allowed Tue/Thu/Sat 11am–5pm. All boats need LBPOA sticker + inspection.
Can I rent my house (Airbnb)?
30-day minimum rental, owner must register guests, max 2 rentals per year for non-resident owners. Party houses lose lake privileges fast.
Is the water safe to swim?
Yes. Tested Mon/Wed/Fri for E.coli and clarity. Results posted at beaches and in member app. Zero closures in 2025.
What about winter?
Lake never fully closes. Ice fishing when 6”+ thick, groomed trails, polar plunge Jan 1, and sauna at clubhouse all winter.
